Premium Silicone Rendering Service
Looking for the most advanced exterior finish on the market? Our Silicone Rendering service offers a thin-coat, high-performance solution specifically engineered to withstand the riggors of British weather.
Silicone render is a "thin-coat" system that is applied over a reinforced base coat, making it the most flexible and water-repellent finish available today.
Why choose Silcone Rendering?
- Extreme Hydrophobicity: Silicone is naturally water-repellent. Rainwater beads up and rolls off the surface, taking dirt and pollutants with it—often referred to as a "self-cleaning" effect.
- Unrivalled Flexibility: Because it is applied as a thin-coat system with a full mesh reinforcement, it is incredibly resistant to structural movement. It’s the best choice for preventing cracks.
- Highly Breathable: Despite being waterproof, the material is highly vapor-permeable. This allows your home to "breathe," reducing the risk of condensation and dampness.
- Algae Resistant: The water-repellent nature of the finish makes it much harder for algae, lichen, and moss to take hold, keeping your white or cream walls brighter for longer.
Silicone Render FAQ
What exactly is Silicone Render?
Silicone render is a "thin-coat" system. Unlike traditional thick renders, it is applied in a thin layer (usually 1.5mm to 3mm) over a reinforced base coat. It contains silicone resin, which makes the finish incredibly flexible and water-repellent.
Should I choose silicone or monocouche?
It depends on your goals, but silicone is generally considered a higher-performance system. While monocouche is a fantastic "all-in-one" product, silicone offers superior flexibility (less cracking) and better water repellency. If you live in a particularly wet or exposed area, silicone is often the recommended choice.
Is silicone render self-cleaning?
The silicone resin makes the surface hydrophobic. When it rains, water doesn't soak into the render; instead, it beads up and rolls off. As the water moves across the surface, it picks up dirt and dust, naturally washing the building as it rains.
What surfaces can silicone render be applied to?
One of the biggest advantages of silicone is its versatility. Because it uses a reinforced base coat, it can be applied to brickwork, blockwork, and even External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems. It’s also an excellent choice for timber-frame or lightweight steel-frame buildings because of its natural elasticity.
What colours are available?
We can provide silicone render in almost any color you can imagine. Because it is a synthetic, resin-based product, the colors are incredibly vibrant and UV-stable, meaning they won't fade significantly even after years of sun exposure. Check out our colour picker here.
